Cru Wine’s Bonita Springs buildout packed a remarkable amount of construction into 1,556 square feet: a refrigerated wine storage area, the plumbing, HVAC, and electrical to support it, cabinetry and countertops, and an acoustic ceiling, with Fort handling the structural, fire wall, and fire sprinkler engineering and the permit plans before building it all out for a national tenant.
The challenge
Wine does not forgive a sloppy buildout
A refrigerated wine room is a technical space wearing a retail finish. The refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical all have to work together to hold conditions that wine demands, inside a buildout that also has to look the part for customers. Layer on the fire wall and sprinkler engineering an inspector expects, the standards a national tenant holds every market to, and a tight footprint where every trade overlaps, and a small space becomes a coordination-heavy project.

Engineer it, permit it, build it, once
Fort carried the engineering and the permit plans in-house before mobilizing, so the structural work, the fire systems, and the mechanical trades were resolved on paper rather than discovered in the field. In a footprint this size, that sequencing is the difference between trades stacking productively and trades standing on each other.
