Community redevelopment runs on unglamorous infrastructure. For the Collier County Bayshore Gateway Triangle CRA, Fort built out a 0.48-acre site into 20,909 square feet of public parking, complete with the drainage infrastructure, lighting, and landscaping that let a redevelopment district’s public spaces actually work.
The challenge
Public infrastructure on a half-acre
A redevelopment agency’s projects carry a particular weight: they are built with public money, in a district the agency is working to lift, and every element from the drainage to the lighting is part of the public realm it is creating. On a compact 0.48-acre site, there is no room to waste, and the lot, its stormwater, its lighting, and its landscape all have to fit together precisely.
Our approach
Small site, complete delivery
Fort delivered the site as one scope under one contractor: grading and construction, the drainage that keeps a Florida lot dry, the lighting that keeps a public lot safe at night, and the landscaping that makes public infrastructure something a neighborhood is glad to have. The CRA had a single point of accountability from mobilization to completion.
The outcome
Parking that serves a district
The lot was completed in 2021 and serves the Bayshore area today. It is one of several projects Fort has delivered for public owners across Southwest Florida, alongside work for Collier County at Caxambas Park, the City of Naples, the Naples Airport Authority, and Lee County.
