What we do
Design that already knows how it gets built.
Most projects hand design to one firm and construction to another, and the two never quite line up. At Fort, the design happens in-house, on the same team that engineers and builds the project, so the drawings reflect real budgets, real structure, and real site conditions from the first sketch.
A licensed architect reviews and seals the drawings, so the set is properly stamped while staying integrated with the rest of your project. You get design and construction thinking in the same room, under one contract.
Scope
What we handle.
Schematic and design development
Concept, space planning, and design development that balances how the building should look with how it will actually be built.
Construction documents
Coordinated drawing sets carried through to permit-ready construction documents, sealed by a licensed architect.
Interior planning and finish selection
Layouts, materials, and finishes selected alongside the design, not bolted on at the end.
Code review and zoning analysis
Early review of building code and zoning, so design decisions hold up when the project reaches the county or city.
The in-house difference
Designed in-house, sealed by a licensed architect.
Design at Fort is not subcontracted to a separate firm. Our team develops it in-house, a licensed architect provides the seal, and the engineers and builders are at the table the whole time. That is what keeps a beautiful drawing from becoming an expensive surprise in the field.
Built to be built
Designs grounded in real construction costs and methods from day one, so the budget survives the build.
Coastal and flood-aware
Form, elevation, and massing designed for Southwest Florida’s flood zones, wind, and sun.
Design review districts
Experience with the look-and-feel requirements of design-review areas like Old Naples.
One contract
The licensed architect, the engineers, and the builders all work under a single agreement with you.

Common questions
Frequently asked.
Does Fort have an architect on staff?
Our design team develops your project in-house, and a licensed architect reviews and seals the drawings. You get integrated design with a properly stamped set, under one contract.
Can you work from my concept, or start from scratch?
Either. We can take a napkin sketch, a rough idea, or a finished program and develop it into a permit-ready design.
Do you handle interiors and finishes too?
Yes. Space planning, materials, and finish selection are part of the design, handled alongside it rather than after.
What areas do you design for?
Collier and Lee counties, including Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, and Marco Island.
