After delivering the Naples Airport parking expansion in 2024, Fort was back on the airfield the following year, this time extending the airport’s interior roadway network. The project covered 2,535 linear feet of new roadway with the full package of sitework that goes with it: drainage, landscaping, lighting, striping, and new perimeter fencing for the City of Naples Airport Authority.

The challenge

Heavy civil work inside an airport fence

An airport is one of the most controlled construction environments there is. Work happens inside a secured perimeter, around an operation that does not pause, for a public authority with its own standards, inspections, and accountability to the community. The scope itself was the full breadth of horizontal construction: half a mile of roadway plus the drainage to keep it dry, the lighting and striping to make it usable, and the fencing that maintains the security boundary it sits inside.

Our approach

Sequence, coordinate, deliver

Public infrastructure rewards the same thing Fort’s commercial work does: planning the sequence before mobilizing, coordinating closely with the owner, and resolving questions before they reach the field. Working for the Airport Authority a second consecutive year meant the relationships, the access procedures, and the expectations were already established, and the project moved accordingly.

The outcome

A second delivery for the same public owner

The roadway extension was completed in 2025, with all associated drainage, lighting, striping, fencing, and landscaping in place. It marked Fort’s second completed project for the City of Naples Airport Authority in as many years, the kind of repeat public-sector work that only follows a first project done right.
