In Pine Ridge Estates, one of Naples’ most established neighborhoods, Fort took a single-family home down to its essential structure, removing roof trusses and walls, and rebuilt it as a 4,713 square foot residence through a complete remodel and addition. Design, plans, permitting, structural engineering, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and construction all ran through Fort’s in-house team.
The challenge
Harder than building new
A remodel that removes roof trusses and walls is not a renovation, it is a rebuild negotiated with an existing structure. Every wall that comes down changes what the remaining structure carries, every addition has to marry new construction to old, and in Naples all of it has to come up to the current hurricane wind code. It is the kind of project where the gap between the drawings and the discovered reality of an existing house gets settled week by week.
Our approach
The engineer on the same team as the framer
This is where Fort’s in-house model earns its keep on residential work. When demolition exposes the inevitable surprises of an existing home, the structural answers come from the same team, on the same contract, instead of a back-and-forth between a separate engineer, architect, and builder while the project waits. Design, structure, mechanical trades, and construction moved as one scope from the first drawing to the final inspection.

The remodel and addition were completed in 2020, delivering a 4,713 square foot home rebuilt for the way its owners live and engineered to the standard Southwest Florida demands.
