Common questions
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Initial estimates and consultations are free.
What if I don’t have drawings or plans yet?
That’s fine. Fort handles architectural design, civil engineering, and structural engineering in-house, so you can come to us at any stage. Napkin sketch, raw idea, or finished construction documents, we meet you where you are.
What is the Maximum Cost Guarantee?
When we issue a Fort proposal, the price is locked. If the project runs over, Fort absorbs the overage. You don’t pay a dollar more than what’s on the proposal. We can offer this because every estimate is reviewed by a Professional Engineer before it goes out.
How long does the estimate process take?
It depends on scope. After the initial call, we give you a realistic timeline for the proposal itself. Tenant improvements and renovations move faster. New construction with significant design or engineering scope takes longer.
Do you take residential projects?
Yes. Residential is one of the eight markets Fort serves, alongside medical, retail, industrial, office, government, non-profit, and restaurants.
What information helps you scope faster?
Anything you have. Drawings or site plans, photos of the existing space or site, examples of comparable projects, a ballpark budget, and a target completion date. None of this is required to start. After you submit, you can email drawings or photos directly to [email protected].
